Iranian Saffron market have been fluctuating since last month (12th November to 12th December). In fact, this situation causes by lacking of Saffron supplying and local demand.
In demand side, market experience relax time because local consumer resist again new high prices and some of the buy cheaper kind of Saffron like; Saffron powder and White Saffron.
But in the other hand, In supply side, Farmers resist to supply their new crop. Because of two fact, the first one, They had to sold theirs crops as least price for some years ago. The second one, drought and climate economic in this regions that force them to sell their product as high price.
Therefor, Saffron suppliers meet serious challenge specially when they want to commit high volume.
Also, when we hear from our own selected Saffron farmers(own network) which we understand that Saffron harvesting rate(2021) is less than to half or one-fifth in some region compare to the previous year(2020).
Statistic shows that average every 1000 meters land harvesting is between 200 to 400 grams filament Saffron in 2021 which this figures were between 800 to 1000 grams last year(2020).
This condition is effected by to main factors: 1)drought 2)farmers has least motivate to cultivation
